Dr. Tammy Schultz, Ph.D
Ph.D, LCPC
Life is a complex journey—sometimes filled with joy and gratitude, and at other times marked by pain and uncertainty. I believe we aren’t meant to face these moments alone. Therapy can offer meaningful support, connection, and perspective along the way.
I hold master’s degrees in counseling from Providence Seminary and the University of North Dakota, as well as a Ph.D. in Counselor Education from Indiana State University. I’m licensed to practice in Illinois and Indiana, and I have had the privilege of working in private practice, community mental health, and university counseling centers. I also have the joy of teaching stellar clinical mental health counseling students at Wheaton College.
My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, relational, and embodied. I integrate evidence-based modalities, including EMDR, somatic practices, and mindfulness-based interventions. I also incorporate faith-based practices, supporting the holistic healing of mind, body, and spirit. Whether through prayer or space for spiritual reflection, I invite clients to bring their beliefs into the therapy room in ways that feel meaningful and empowering.
I believe healing begins when we gently turn toward the parts of ourselves we’ve learned to avoid. In our work together, I honor your pace, focusing on resilience, empowerment, and helping you restore a deep sense of agency in your life.
What I do for fun:
I enjoy working in my garden, taking prayer walks with friends, reading a plethora of books and more books, and simply being with the people I love.
